Back in June, being 9 months pregnant, all I was hoping for at the time was that I would not go into labor in front of one my math classes taking their final exams. I knew though in the back of my mind that I was taking at least a year off of school to take care of my soon-to-be-arriving little baby boy. It could not have come at a better time- I was feeling in a rut with teaching and knew when and if I decided to go back I would try and switch schools so I could teach at a closer high school to where we live. I could also use this year to maybe explore other career options or just expand on my many hobbies such as photography and cooking. Maybe I'll actually take my father in law's suggestion of becoming an event planner. So far, a two-month-old is not giving me time for much other than having a quick meal and making sure I keep up with personal hygiene. Being a mommy is awesome, though, and when CJ burrows his head into my chest as he falls asleep on me or when he gives us big smiles I know all of the hard work is worth it.
Even though free time is at a minimum, I did decide to to start a 365 Day Project on the day I was supposed to report back to school and blog about it as well. A 365 Day Project entails a promise to take at least one picture a day for an entire year. Some people have themes throughout the year (I saw one idea of taking a picture of eggs for a week) and some people's pictures are completely random. I thought I would base my project/blog around being a stay-at-home mommy. Yes, I am sure I will be all out of ideas some days and whip out a carton of eggs. I am also sure that there will be many pictures of my little man (but what better subject and grandparent-pleaser?) I just know that this year will be an adventure in its own right!
Today's first picture is of me and CJ, who will be 2 months old tomorrow. I already know my last picture will be of the two of us- I am sure he's going to look so much older (and hopefully me baby-weight free???).
This is great - I LOVE that you're doing this and I know CJ is going to enjoy looking back on this years down the road. I will comment regularly so I can be a part of the conversation (perhaps CJ's Grandparents will too - hint hint). It's been an amazing two months after a long and exciting nine months, and I can't wait to see how the next year progresses and how you capture it :)
